Description

SALAMANDER
Latin: Salamandra Ignis
Race: Demon
Species: Elemental
Classification: Fire Lizard Demon
Height: 0.5 Meters (2m when stood up)
Length: 5 Meters
Weight: 600 Kg
Diet: Pyrovore

Salamanders are Elemental Demons, thriving in the presence of fire, with large serpentine like bodies and an aggressive disposition, Salamanders are some of the more dangerous Elementals out there.
They exist in areas of extreme heat, naturally being found near volcanoes or hot places such as deserts, although they have been found to prowl more forested areas from time to time, and in the process their presence usually leads to forest fires.

Feasting off fire and heat, they hunt for fuel sources to keep themselves ignited, which can consist of anything flammable, wood, coal, oil, even animals are seen as fuel for these destructive Demons.

Salamanders are 1 of the few types of Demons we humans know a lot about, They are social Demons usually basking together in small groups, but if there is enough heat to go around then there can be as many as 20 individuals in 1 location, which in turn increases local temperatures as they all share each others heat.

Even the life cycle of Salamanders is well documented, with the Demon going through 3 noticeable stages of growth:
. STAGE 1 - The beginning of their lives, they start off as just a burning skull that seems to swim through flames and lava like a tadpole, they are unable to leave the fire without perishing, being unable to maintain their own heat.
. STAGE 2 - The next stage in growth, they will develop a long serpentine body, allowing them to leave the nursery flame and search for fuel, but they still require close proximity to large heat sources.
. STAGE 3 - Adult salamanders create limbs out of the burnt up ashes and coal they built up while burning, these powerful new limbs also allow the salamander to Stand up and leap long distances to capture prey and even allow them to dig tear right through trees, breaking up woods so that they can burn easier, this stage tends to go further away from the nests as they are now able to gather fuel for themselves with little to no issue.

The True threat from Salamanders is there incredible Pyrokinetic abilities, being able to reach temperatures of up to 1500°C, allowing a full grown Salamander to easily melt rock, which some have been seen using to quickly swim by melting the ground beneath them, granting them a speed advantage no matter the terrain.

Salamanders are also capable of breathing out flames of even GREATER heats, reaching temperatures  of 30
00°C, being able to melt almost any metals and cremate any living target.

They are even able to manipulate the shape of their flames, making their breath lash around almost like long flaming tongues, this Pyrokinisis also allows them to draw in fire around them to bolster there already intense heat
A well fed Salamander is a truly dangerous Demon to confront.

The best ways to confront a Salamander is to either drown it when it is still small, or to deprive it of Oxygen until its flames die out
Curiously when a Salamander is extinguished, it's body temperature instantly drops to 0°C being as cold as ice to the touch.

Humans actually have began using Salamander remains as a form of efficient Coal, being able to burn for twice as long for 1/2 the amount of coal needed for fuel, making Salamander remains an excellent fuel source if not a dangerous one to farm.

There have been very rare sightings of Blue Salamanders.
No one is sure as to how or why these Azure Salamanders occur but so far there have only been 2 sightings of these Blue Demons throughout history.

Hope you all enjoyed this
the day this is posted celebrates the 2 year anniversary of my very 1st picture here on deviant art
(which was a fan art of a salamander from blue exorcist)
i wanted to try something new with the design of the salamander here, i see a lot of amphibian or lizard designs but i have never seen a serpentine like salamander so i went for it, i also loved the way Axolotl have their feathery gills out so i gave this salamander those to not only show the relation to the amphibian name sake but also to add more style to the design
thank you for the 2 years of support on this website, it really means a lot :aww:
